Mount Holly is Rich with History
This community was founded in 1754 when King George II issued a land grant to James Kuykendall of Holland. The original name of the community was Dutchman’s Creek. In 1875, the name of the town was changed to Mount Holly, after the Mount Holly Cotton Mill that was established that year.
